Environmental Commitments

Carbon-Neutral Journeys

We recognize that air travel is a significant component of our clients’ journeys. To address this, we have committed to making every Hong Kong to Bali journey we facilitate a carbon-neutral one. We partner with Gold Standard and Verra-certified projects to:

  • Calculate Footprint: We calculate the total carbon emissions for each client’s return flights (HKG-DPS-HKG on carriers like Cathay Pacific or Garuda Indonesia) and all their ground transportation in Bali.
  • Offset & Invest: We purchase verified carbon credits to offset this footprint. We prioritize investments in Indonesian-based reforestation and renewable energy projects, such as the Katingan Mentaya Peatland Restoration project in Kalimantan, ensuring our contribution has a local impact.

War on Plastics

We are actively working to eliminate single-use plastics from our service chain. This includes:

  • Providing complimentary reusable glass water bottles in all our vehicles.
  • Working with villa and hotel partners to encourage the use of refillable bathroom amenities.
  • Auditing our partners on their plastic waste management policies as part of our vetting methodology.

Marine Conservation

A portion of our annual profits is donated directly to The Coral Triangle Center in Sanur, Bali. This contribution supports their vital work in marine protected area management, sustainable fisheries, and training for local communities to become stewards of their marine environment.

Local Employment and Fair Wages

We are an Indonesian-registered company committed to the local economy.

  • 95% Local Team: Over 95% of our Bali-based team are Indonesian citizens, with the majority being native Balinese.
  • Fair Compensation: We provide salaries and benefits that exceed industry standards, including comprehensive health insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) and social security (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) for all full-time employees and their families.

Supporting Local Enterprises

We believe in a ‘support local’ philosophy. We deliberately prioritize partnerships with locally-owned businesses:

  • Sourcing fresh produce for our private chefs from local organic farms in the Bedugul region.
  • Commissioning guest amenities from local artisans, such as hand-woven textiles from Tenganan village.
  • Partnering with family-owned, expert guides rather than large, impersonal tour companies.

Cultural Preservation

Our goal is to facilitate respectful and authentic cultural immersion, not mass tourism.

  • Client Education: We provide all clients with a guide on local customs and temple etiquette to encourage respectful interactions.
  • Authentic Experiences: We arrange private workshops with master artisans (e.g., silversmiths in Celuk, woodcarvers in Mas) where a significant portion of the fee goes directly to the artist, supporting the continuation of these traditional crafts.
  • Avoiding Overtourism: We design itineraries that showcase the lesser-known, yet equally beautiful, parts of Bali, helping to distribute the economic benefits of tourism more evenly across the island.
